Google Instant will affect SEO and search engine marketing as consumers are served instant content with intuitive search.
Google is a step ahead of the pack, once again, with the release of Google Instant. You may have noticed an intuitive feature, within Google search this month. The feature predicts what you are searching for and provides instant results while you are typing.
Google’s Marissa Mayer called it a “fundamental shift in search.”
It meets online consumer demands for instant gratification and will prove to be very valuable to those who follow our SEO strategies. If you are ranked within the keyword categories people are searching for, you will benefit. The key is to know what consumers are searching for - exactly.
Exact keyword searches matter. Those companies following phrase and broad search strategies are less likely to benefit from the new modification. The savvy SEO Consulting firms research exact keyword search volumes and develop strategies to rank companies on search results pages, for exactly what consumers are searching for. A search on Google shows top firms for Online Marketing, National SEO Consulting, and Social Media Marketing. You will see the search results change, as you type in the words.
We continue to follow search engine technology changes and modify strategy accordingly. These SEO Consulting strategies are proving to work with Google Caffeine, changes in algorithms for video SEO, and online reputation management in search engine optimization.
Google Instant provides three benefits to search engine users:
1.. The Google Instant search saves 2 - 5 seconds per search, according to research done by Google.
2. Google Instant provides predictions to search which guide search engine users.
3. Google Instant provides instant results with every letter entered by the user, providing more quality in usability.
With this new technology feature, Google Instant will affect SEO, as the engine will only serve information of companies which have also been intuitive enough to engage in SEO strategies to target exact search volumes. Those companies using SEO strategies to target broad search have just lost the battle.
Consumers can disable Google Instant, but the majority will not disable the new feature. Google Instant will automatically be disabled when Google detects the searcher is using a slow internet connection, although I don’t know what they define as slow. Also Google Instant is not a mobile search feature, as of yet. However, Google Instant for mobile search is coming soon.
Google Instant is safe for office use, because it will detect “not safe for work content” such as queries which are lewd of offensive. In this case, Google will stop displaying search predictions in the toolbar and instead displays a “press enter to search” message below the search box. The user will have to press enter to get the results.
Google Instant is currently available to users in the United States. They are working on roll outs of the technology in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Russia for those using the following browsers: Chrome v5/6, Firefox v3, Safari v5 for Mac and Internet Explorer v8.
If you don’t yet see it, you can use this: Enable Google Instant URL. Signing into Google may also help enable Google Instant faster.
As Google Caffeine affected search by providing consumers with the most up to date content, Google Instant will decrease the time for which it takes the consumer to find that content. With use of social media optimization, updated content on a frequent basis, and target of exact searches being performed by search engine users, Rostin Ventures continues to stay a step ahead of the pack in SEO.
